Apple has once again taken the ordinary (ethernet to 802.11 adapter) and tweaked it to make it extraordinary. I have wanted this product since Airport originally came out. I tend to listen to my music while I'm working on my portable computer in the living room, but in the past I had to either a) listen to CDs or b) run a 1/8" pin to RCA to my stereo from my laptop. Neither were ideal, so I ended up getting an iPod and a Navipod remote and programmed my learning remote to run it (following after Wade's success with it). The bad thing is it doesn't navigate the iPod's menu structure, it can only do the basics: play, stop, forward and rewind. With the Airport Express you do all your DJ'n from iTunes so you're golden as long as you have a portable handy. As far as I'm concerned, the print server, repeater and portable wireless router are just added bonus'. If only it came out 8 months sooner.... cheers, will comments posted at 8:10 PM Comments:Post a Comment |
