Hi All, Just a quick note to say we hear you guys. We know you all want Firefox 3 support and we're working on a new, from the ground up, version of Bookit which supports it. Rewriting a product from scratch, literally, takes time and we thank you for your patience. We had hoped to have a release out by now, but our family obligations over the past several months has slowed our progress slightly. We still hope to have a free beta out soonish for people to kick the tires and get syncing their Firefox 3 bookmarks. Hang tight and thanks for checking in.
cheers, will

thats great, brilliant to know theres light at the end of the tunnel and good to know you didn't get disheartened by all the negative comments, I was worrying due to all that you guys would just sack it off...
good news :)

Luckily, it's winter and there are a lot of great things to do outside while you wait for Bookit 4, like snowboarding and working on new eggnog recipes.
only joking :) glad to hear there's still action on this, and hope there's something else for us to enjoy soon.

Any chance to have automatic bookmarks syncronization option ? So that we can have bookmarks syncronizated in background without need to execute bookmarkit each time ? Thanks

Shall I write it for you. it's a sqlite table.. your going to want to get this version out before foxmarks if available for safari. cause after would be pointless. may be anyway.

Will this update be free? I bought BookIt shortly before FF3 released, and have been quite disappointed that I paid for an app that was quickly rendered useless. I'll be satisfied if the eventual update to BookIt is free for previous users...if not, I'll likely take my business elsewhere. I do not intend to be unsympathetic to mitigating circumstances, however if you are going to charge for software you should be somewhat more responsive with regards to support and updates.

I really hope there'll be at least a beta out in 2008... I've been waiting very long for this update. I just became a father (2nd time), too, so I know how demanding it is and you really get nothing else done, but as my previous poster said, we're not talking about freeware here, I've paid some money to support further development as well, so I'm getting a bit disappointed about the support. I could even live with a non-free update if it blows my socks off (again).

@Rob, Yes, if you bought Bookit around the time Firefox 3 was released (we haven't finalized the exact date) you'll get a free upgrade.

Damn ! I should have read this... I've just buying Bookit and didn't understand why it wasn't working... Well... I'll keep my Bookit waiting for the FF support...

so can you please tell us just how much longer we need to wait? i believe most of those who have purchased and relied on bookit have been quite patient. i've had to sit on my hands for months, meanwhile my bookmarks have gotten out of hand. can't speak for others, but i've lost faith in the product.

Was hoping for a nice Xmas present: BookIt 3 (with flaming Firefox support!). Alas. Will it be soon in the new year? Any indicator would be great... Still like the software for what it does. Wish it could sync on a schedule, maybe using Sync Services, so I would have the option for both automated and manual bookmark syncing. Just a thought....
happy new year!
